Casino Cheating Ring Busted

Officials are calling it the "largest conspiracy against casinos ever committed in this country". It's a complex scheme that's cheated casinos out of millions, including several here on the Mississippi Coast. According to the FBI, 19 people across the nation and 15 in Canada have been indicted, charged with ripping off 18 casinos in the U.S.

Officials say the ring was based in San Diego... and that the scheme netted three-point-three million from U.S. Casinos. Although the investigation began in San Diego, executive director of the Mississippi Gaming Commission Larry Gregory credits Mississippi Gaming officials with figuring out how the cheating scheme worked.

Gregory says it was a complex shuffling scheme involving computers, cell phones, and some casino workers themselves.
