A Biloxi man is in jail, charged with the gruesome murders of two brothers.
It all unfolded at a home on Monte Vista Drive Sunday night, and despite neighbors' efforts to help out, both men ended up dead.
"We discovered one of our female friends, running down the road screaming, saying someone had been stabbed," Eldridge Griner said.
Griner, his wife and kids were returning to their home Monte Vista Drive Sunday night when the unimaginable happened.
"When we came in and parked our car in the driveway, we discovered a body lying right here, in this parking area right here, this driveway. After we responded getting him help, calling 9-1-1, another resident told us there was another body at the trailer on the side of us, so went running up there, and there was another body lying facedown, brutally stabbed," Griner said.
Griner says he did his best to save his neighbors' life, a Mexican man who moved into a mobile home next door with his brother after Katrina. The man had been stabbed in the chest, but managed to make it to Griner's driveway for help. According to Griner, the man's brother was already dead on the doorstep.
The two victims have been identified as 27-year-old Alexander Sanchez and 29-year-old Jaime Sanchez. On Monday, police arrested 41-year-old Luis Gonzalez-Gonzalez and charged him with two counts of murder.
Memories of the crime scene still plague Griner, his family and neighbors.
"Everybody's still in a little shock, like I said, this is a real quiet neighborhood. It's respectful. Everybody, in the aftermath, is still in shock. Can't believe something like this happened," Griner said.
Gonzalez-Gonzalez is being held at the Harrison County Jail on a $2 million bond. A motive behind the murders has not yet been released.
