A new airline could soon be flying in and out of Gulfport Biloxi International Airport.
Patriot Airlines is based in Dallas, but the fledgling airline is looking for other hubs in the United States. CEO Yong Goh says his charter airline is attracted to the Gulfport-Biloxi area because of it's leisure market status and Sunbelt location.
"We have been looking at several possibilities for service into Gulfport," Goh said. "It looks very promising. We are certainly very excited about the prospect of flying here."
The casino industry is working closely with Patriot to bring the airline to the Coast. If a deal is made, Patriot's Boeing 737's will be chartering flights out of Gulfport's FBO Aviation Center in about three months.
