Someone's Watching You

They're already on the streets of Jackson County.  Within a few weeks, a fleet of 35 patrol cars in the sheriff's department will be equipped with a small adjustable camera system. When the blue lights come on, the camera automatically starts rolling.  That way, when an officer arrives on the scene, the tape is rolling.

The camera's main purpose is to record any action outside of the car.  But deputies say the camera also gives them another reason to always act professionally. The cameras are being paid for with a 130 thousand dollar federal grant.  The sheriff's department just recently became eligible for the funding after they started filing crime reports with the FBI.
