The Ocean Springs Library is undergoing some post-Katrina renovations.
During the storm, the roof, several doors, and outside lights were damaged. Through city funds, the interior and exterior will be upgraded.
So far, the city has pressure washed the outside of the building, sanded and painted the doors, and replaced exterior lighting. The city also plans to add more shelving and improve the plumbing and ventilation inside the branch.
"The Library is the heart of Ocean Springs. It has the highest circulation of any libraries in our system, and people have always loved to come to the library. This is welcoming, it is open and well lighted and clean, and very well cared for, and people appreciate that," Area Manager Janis Zuleeg said.
