Saucier Boy Killed In Hwy 49 Accident

A 10-year-old Saucier boy died trying to help his two young friends escape from a wrecked vehicle. The accident happened Tuesday night around 10:30pm.

Chad Lee Junior and three friends were in a van on their way home from their first baseball game this year when the brakes failed. The adult driver was forced to run a stop sign at 49 and Duckworth, and the van was hit by a pick-up.

After the collision, Chad got out to help his nine-year-old friends. That's when Chad was hit by a car. The boy was rushed to Garden Park Medical Center where he later died.

The driver is still recovering. None of the other children were critically injured.
