Chad Raines has only worked at Beach Bums for two days, but he's been busy answering a lot of questions from curious onlookers.
" Actually, they've been surprised we're opening up this soon, but everybody's ready for it." Beach Bums took a one year hiatus because of the storm now they're back and ready to reopen.
As Raines prepares for this weekend's opening, he says beach goers will have plenty of activities to choose from.
"We've got volleyball, kayaks, lounges," Raines says.
Beach Bums will also have jet skis for rent Saturday, some of which are brand new. Business opens at 9 a.m. Saturday morning."
"I think we're going to be seven days a week, pretty much from nine in the morning until sunfall, and we'll have security come in and work the rest," Raines says.
While Beach Bums will be providing beach rentals for visitors, the owner is still looking to put some more people on the payroll.
Raines says the owner of Beach Bums is glad to be back in business and plans on making a big post-Katrina comeback this year.
