Stone County Boy Recovering From Accidental Shooting

A nine-year-old Stone county boy is recovering Friday after being shot by another child.

Authorities say eleven-year-old Alan Rayburn had a loaded shotgun in his hands when he tripped over a mattress and accidentally shot his cousin.

Wade Ladner was taken to Forest General, and later transferred to University Hospital in Jackson.

Ladner had surgery Friday morning to remove shotgun pellets that shattered his collarbone. He is expected to make a full recovery.

The shooting has been ruled accidental and no charges will be filed.
