Colorado Students Spend Vacation Cleaning Up West Gulfport

Students at two Colorado universities joined forces Tuesday to help remove the remains of a West Gulfport home that was battered by Katrina. Eighteen students from Colorado State and the University of Colorado worked throughout the day to clear the Hardy Avenue property.

The students are members of the Fellowship for Christian Athletes and Campus Crusade for Christ. Although they're from different universities, they say their mission is the same.

"We want to make a difference and represent Jesus Christ, our Savior. And that's what Campus Crusade is all about, just having a personal relationship with him. It's really important to us," volunteer David Robison said.

Another group from the two universities is helping out with recovery efforts in New Orleans. The groups plan to work in both South Mississippi and New Orleans throughout the week.
