Gulfport Airport Flying High

Continental Airlines will add a fourth nonstop flight between Biloxi and Houston, Texas, as part of a joint marketing agreement with Beau Rivage Casino and Resort, the companies said Monday. The new service will begin Feb. 14 between Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport and Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Continental will operate a 104-seat Boeing 737 on the flight. Continental and Continental Express already offer three nonstop flights between the Mississippi coast and Houston. ``There has been a strong demand for air travel between the two communities,'' said Jason Reisinger, Continental's manage of route planning. ``Additional service will make Gulfport-Biloxi more accessible to dozens of cities Continental serves in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia.''

Jeff Dahl, president of Beau Rivage, said Houston is a viable market from which the Gulf Coast can draw visitors. He said the Gulfport-Biloxi airport will participate in promoting the new air service. ``Through this arrangement, Beau Rivage will be able to provide special pricing for its guests on all of the Houston Continental flights,'' Dahl said.
