Fatal Hunting Mishap

Law enforcement authorities believe a Moss Point man drowned during a hunting trip Friday in Leakesville. A spokesman for the Greene County Sheriff's Department said 66 year old Clarence Hurst was riding a four-wheel all terrain vehicle up a hill and it overturned on him.

Hurst likely drowned in Bear Creek after being knocked unconscious in the accident, said Coroner Clyde Gilley. The accident happened about 8 p.m. in a wooded area behind Magnolia Apartments, Gilley said.

The accident is under investigation by the Leakesville Police Department.
