New Top Dog At The P.S.C.

Southern District Commissioner Michael Callahan is now chairman of the Mississippi Public Service Commission. Callahan will hold the position for two years. His term began Jan. 1. ``I feel that the past two years as vice chairman have prepared me for the responsibility,'' Callahan said in a statement Tuesday.

``We will continue to make reliable and reasonable utility service available to residents of Mississippi.'' Callahan replaces Commissioner Nielsen Cochran as chairman of the commission. Commissioner Bo Robinson is the new vice chairman.

Callahan graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in criminal justice. He received a law degree from the Mississippi College School of Law. He was elected to the PSC in 1999.
