Rodeo Crowds Have Grown Over The Years

More people than ever turned out for this year's rodeo at the Coliseum. Sunday was last day of competition at the Professional Cowboys Association Rodeo in Biloxi. Rodeo. Officials say this year's crowds were the largest they've seen since coming to the coast eight years ago.

On Saturday night an estimated seven thousand fans filled the stands. Officials say interest in the rodeo keeps growing because it's family entertainment.

"There's not a lot of things families can go do as a family anymore," executive director Merv Campbell said. "We try to bring that family entertainment. That family atmosphere. We try to have our ticket prices so families can come."

Rodeo officials have already planned next year's visit to the coast. It will take plane the second week in January 2003.
