Sunday afternoon, the Pass Christian Mardi Gras parade provided residents with a day of fun and Carnival festivities. Thousands of people came out for the parade. More than 50 floats lined the storm damaged streets of Pass Christian for the annual St Paul Carnival Association's Mardi Gras parade.
John Dane III played the part of King Christiana, while Debbie Jones wore the crown of Queen Christiana. While the parade serves as the culmination of the town's Mardi Gras festivities, it also serves an important role in raising funds for a very worthy cause.
"The Association is a fund raising event on behalf of the students of Holy Family Parish, formally Saint Paul's Parish, and this year we've raised over $90,000 thanks to there efforts for the kids," says Chris Schmidt.
Part of this year's parade route was diverted to Highway 90 due to the damage along Scenic Drive.
