Bay St. Louis Mayor Doing Well After Heart Surgery

A week after heart surgery, Bay St. Louis Mayor Eddie Favre says he's doing just fine. In fact, the mayor describes his procedure as an "unexpected tune-up."

Last Friday, Mayor Favre checked himself into a Jackson Hospital after he started feeling ill. Favre says doctors found he had three blocked arteries leading to his heart. Stents were put in and the mayor returned home Saturday.

"The mayor is doing fine," Buz Olsen, Dir. Of Administrations said. "I just spoke to him. He's eager, he wants to know what's going on. He's just chomping at the bit to get back to the job. Not that he hasn't been working, he's been working since Monday."

This was Favre's second bout with clogged arteries. Seven years ago the mayor had a similar procedure.

Favre told Hancock County Reporter Al Showers he'd be back to work full time this Monday.
