A three-year-old boy was killed in a morning accident in Gulfport. It happened just after 8:30 Wednesday morning at the intersection of Highway 49 and Polk Street. Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove identifies the young victim as Daravin Robinson.
Investigators say Daravin's mother, Denisha Robinson, was driving a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am southbound on Highway 49 when she made a left turn toward Polk Street. That's when a northbound Ford F-150 truck slammed into the car. Officials say they don't expect to file any charges against the driver of that truck, Percy McClendon.
Robinson and a passenger, 22-year-old Emanuel Floyd, were treated and released from Memorial Hospital. But Daravin died 45 minutes after the crash from head and chest injuries.
