Brett Favre To Return In 2007

Brett Favre will return in 2007. Green Bay Packers General Manager Ted Thompson announced the news in a statement Friday saying, "Brett Favre informed me this morning that he plans to return for a 17th NFL season. The Packers are excited by his decision and look forward to a successful 2007 campaign."

WLOX Sports Director AJ Giardina spoke with Brett's mother, Bonita Favre, who said she's happy he's coming back, but her only concern is she doesn't want to see him get hurt.

"He loves the game and knows he can still play, and he wants to lead Green Bay to another Super Bowl," Bonita Favre told WLOX.

Brett Favre is the NFL's only three-time MVP (1995-97). He's started 221 consecutive games, which is an NFL record for a quarterback.

In 1996, he established the 'Brett Favre Fourward Foundation' which has donated more than $2.2 million to charities in his home state of Mississippi as well as to those in his adopted state of Wisconsin, according to, the official team website.
