Hundreds of needy families in Hancock County will be able to enjoy some tasty meals over the holidays thanks to some businesses and residents who care about others.
Santa led the way to the Hancock County Food Pantry on Saturday, the place where hundreds of canned goods and none perishable items were delivered. The owners of the Waveland Holiday Inn, the Coconut Bar and Grill and Rick Bounds Auto Sales wanted to make sure no one went hungry this Christmas.
"The response was unbelievable," says Ricky Favre, co-organizer of the food drive. "In the first couple of days, the food we got was unbearable and it just started coming and coming. We figure we got three-quarters of a ton of can goods and dry goods."
