Sea Wolves Explode With Two Third Period Goals To Shoot Down Pensacola 4-3

After dropping a 4-3 heartbreaker to the New Orleans Brass Wednesday night the Mississippi Sea Wolves battled back to upended the Pensacola Ice Pilots 4-3 in the "Hanger." Trailing 3-2 Francois Fortier tied the game at 16:16 of the 3rd period on a pass from Jeremy Rebek. Twenty-eight seconds later newly acquired defenseman Jim Baxter delivered the puck past Ice Pilots goalie Maxine Gingras for the game winner.

Ryan Lauzon gave Mississippi a one nothing lead at 8:33 of the first period. Rob Sinclair tied it for Pensacola at 10:22 of the first period.

Louis Dumont propelled the Ice Pilots to a 2-1 lead at 1:33 of the second period. Eight minutes and 33 seconds later Jerome Marois knotted the game 2-all . Francois Fortier and Sheldon Brookbank got the assists.

Pensacola grabbed 3-2 third period lead on Greg Pankewicz 18th goal of the season. About 8 minutes later the Sea Wolves exploded with two goals to claim their 11th win of the season against 14 setbacks.

Mississippi goalie Evan Lindsay stopped 45 of 48 shots on goal. Gingras stopped 38 of 42 shots. Coach Bob Woods and his Sea Wolves hit the road Saturday night facing the Jackson Bandits before returning home 6:05 Sunday night in a rematch with the New Orleans Brass.
