South Mississippi's Women's Resource Center is facing a deadline in the New Year, and the organization needs your help.
The center moved to a new location just west of Lorraine Road after Katrina destroyed their old site in Biloxi. They need to come up with nearly $530,000 before January 10th for their purchase agreement.
The center provides free services for those with planned and unplanned pregnancies, something center leaders say there is a vital need for in the community.
"We provide services anywhere from abstinence education to teenagers in junior high and high school, all the way up to the every bit of support every young man or woman needs when a pregnancy does occur. A lot of times these are unplanned pregnancies, and they are very confused and desperate and they need advice. Often they don't have insurance and the means to buy supplies, and so forth," said Paige Jennings with the Women's Resource Center.
