Robby D'Angelo Says He Will Sign With Southern Miss

Harrison Central Red Rebels 6-2, 285 pound center, Robby D'Angelo announced Tuesday that he will continue his football at Southern Miss. The younger brother of Southern Miss backup quarterback, Micky D'Angelo selected the Golden Eagles over Ole Miss, Tulane, Memphis and Kentucky.

Robby said, "I just felt more at home after visiting Southern Miss and obviously my dream is to play with my brother. That had a lot to do with my commitment to Southern Miss. It's also a family tradition. Besides my brother, my dad also played football at Southern Miss."

Robby's dad, Joey D'Angelo, Harrison Central's offensive coordinator played linebacker at Southern Miss and wore #56. Robby says there's a good chance he'll also wear #56. Robby has been rated as one of the top offensive linemen in the state and he will play center in college.

Joey says he and his wife are proud of their two sons and it would be a dream to see Robby centering the ball to his brother Micky. Robby's mom, Terry, was a standout basketball player at Tulane and now serves as the girls basketball coach at Long Beach High School.

Robby will make it official in February when he signs his National Letter-of-Intent with the Golden Eagles.
