County Will Re-Pay School System

Jackson County supervisors are trying to square their debt with the county school system. Supervisors have agreed to pay the county school system nearly 72-thousand dollars for missed payments on 16th section land leased from the district.

The decision came yesterday after a meeting between the supervisors and school officials. Board of Supervisors President Frank Leach says he received a letter on November 8th from school Superintendent Billy Lee about the delinquent payments.

Leach says the county's Finance Department had been researching the claim.
