Foundation Donates Toys To Memorial Pediatrics

The Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of seriously ill children and their families, donated six boxes of toys to the Pediatric Care Unit of Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.

Jamie Traylor, Child Life Specialist, Memorial Pediatrics, said the toys will help with the healing process. Other toys will be offered to the children to take home with them.

The donation included dolls, trucks, games, stuffed animals, and workbooks.

"We recently learned that Memorial Hospital's pediatric unit was in need of toys for their young patients during the holidays, and we promptly sent as many as we could, " said Paula Van Ness, CEO of Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation.

"We are pleased that we are able to help bring smiles to the children at Memorial who have undoubtedly been through more distress than anyone should have to endure."

The Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation offers an array of inpatient, outpatient, school and home-based programs and services for more than 180,000 children and families each month. To learn about the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation, log on to starlight.org.
