Moss Point Fire Officials Await Autopsy Results

Fire officials in Moss Point are awaiting autopsy results before making a decision on the cause of a fire that killed two young boys. The fire happened Monday morning about 8am at the Gray Homes Apartments on Jasmine Street.

Claudia Johnson and her three small children were inside their apartment at the time. While Johnson and her one-year-old daughter were able to escape the intense fire, her two sons did not. Three-year-old Philip Burts, Junior and two-year-old Keyshawn Burts were killed.

Friends of the family have set up an account to help with funeral expenses. If you would like to help, call Union Baptist Church at (228) 762-9797 for more information.
