Murders Under Investigation

Coast authorities are investigating the weekend deaths of a child in Biloxi and a man in Moss point. Early Sunday, police in Moss Point responded to a call that shots had been fired in a motel room at the Executive Inn on U.S. 90. Timothy Dickerson, 25, of Pascagoula, was found with one gunshot wound to the chest, said John Kinsey, Jackson County chief deputy coroner. Dickerson later died at Singing River Hospital.

``We talked to some witnesses who said they heard the shot but didn't see anything,'' said Lt. Jim Roe of the Moss Point Police Department. ``It's all very sketchy. He was shot inside a room, but I don't know if the room was registered in his name.'' No arrests have been made in Dickerson's death, officers said.

Meanwhile, Biloxi police are investigating the Friday night death of 2-year-old Christopher Z. Jessie. Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove said police responded to a call that a child was not breathing. He said Jessie was taken to a Biloxi hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The death occurred in the Woodland Towns apartments in central Biloxi, said Biloxi police Lt. Alan Bond. ``There is a suspect in custody being held on unrelated charges,'' Bond said. ``We will not release his name unless we decide to charge him.''
