Waveland Voters Can Learn About Candidates Online

Waveland residents can now go online to learn more about the candidates running for city elections.

The Coastal Community Watch Organization has set up a website with each candidate's background and answers to questions prepared by the group. It's all to help Waveland voters get to know more about the people who want lead their city.

Voters will also find a detailed map of the ward lines for the city.

"We have 800 members and a lot of them are scattered. Most of them are from Hancock County, but a lot of them are having to live else where right now and they just don't feel connected to the community anymore, though a lot of them are going to be voting absentee. So we wanted to set this up for our absentee members to be able to go online and read about who they were voting for. Then it occurred to us that everybody should be interested in this and it could be a great tool for the community as a whole," said Ellis Anderson, President of Coastal Community Watch.

The website is www.servewaveland.blogspot.com. The organization plans to create similar web sites in the future for Bay St. Louis and County elections.
