The state of Mississippi will be getting 91 million dollars in federal money. Two million dollars will be spent at several rail crossings in South Mississippi. Some will be closed, others will have lights or gates installed.
Three Coast airports will be getting federal money to improve their facilities. Three million will go to the Gulfport/Biloxi International Airport. The Pascagoula airport gets two million dollars, and the Stennis Airport, 750-thousand dollars. Four million dollars will help provide hydro-electric shuttle buses and park and ride facilites in Harrison County.
Senator Trent Lott says the federal funding will improve public safety and create new jobs, all around the state.
