Library Services Returning To Waveland

Library services will be returning to Waveland. The storm-damaged city has been without a library ever since Katrina destroyed the Coleman Avenue facility.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation awarded the Hancock County Library System a grant that will lease the building and pay employees salaries, utility bills and all materials.

It's part of a $12.2 million grant that's available to 13 Katrina damaged communities in Mississippi and Louisiana. It will also bring a temporary library to the Pearlington community.
