Body Of Deer Hunter Found In George County

George County authorities say there was no foul play involved in the death of a hunter whose body was found Monday near the banks of the Pascagoula River.

County Coroner Jimmie C. Green said the body John C. Brooks Sr., 66, was found about 1 p.m. Monday by two deer hunters across from Plum Bluff Estates about 150 yards from the banks of the Pascagoula River.

Johnson was believed to be hunting by himself and died after only a few hours in the woods and no foul play was suspected, Green said. The hunters who found him were with a separate deer hunting party, authorities said.
