Alleged Gunman Killed During Attempted Robbery

A botched robbery attempt in Harrison County led to the death of the alleged robber.

Deputies were called to Bell Lane in Saucier shortly before 11pm Monday night. When they arrived, they found out a couple had allegedly been confronted by the gunmen as they exited their car.

Deputies say when 31-year-old Bobby Hardy assaulted the man from the car, the woman with him shot at Hardy. Hardy was able to flee the scene, but later died at Memorial Hospital.

The male victim was treated for minor wounds. The female was unharmed.

The case will be turned over to a grand jury for review.

The project was suppose to be finished before the beginning of Pascagoula's football season.
