Habitat For Humanity International is coming to Jackson County.
The organization has been building homes in Harrison county for several years, but now low income Jackson County families can become homeowners, too.
The international group in a non-profit Christian housing ministry. Jackson County Habitat for Humanity Director Al Sturgeon says he and other volunteers have been working together on the program for six months, and now it's ready to take off.
"We're in the planning stages already. The first thing that'll happen is our family selection committee will try to get started accepting applications from potential homeowners, and we will select our first family before we even begin construction on a house."
