Catholic School Gets Involved

American patriotism took center stage on the playground at St. Alphonsus school this morning. Students sang patriotic songs and saluted members of the military during the Veterans Day celebration. Air Force Reserve colonel, Charles Ethridge, encouraged the children to talk with their grandparents and great grandparents about the meaning of patriotism and the importance of serving their country.

The youngsters responded to President Bush's call to raise money for the children of Afghanistan. They donated more than 325 dollars to the campaign. Students also unveiled a new patriotic banner that will be posted at the front of St. Alphonsus school.
