Vets Home Loan Program Expanded

A program that helps veterans buy homes is being extended to Mississippi National Guard members. It's the Mississippi Veterans Home Purchase Board. It gives National Guard personnel with seven or more years serving the state the chance to qualify for loans up to 110 thousand dollars. The interest rate for a 15 year mortgage will be less than five percent.

Approximately 4 thousand Mississippi National Guard Personnel will be eligible for the loan program. Governor Ronnie Musgrove says the program is a way to give something back to those who dedicate themselves to defending our state and nation. The program applies only to loans.
