Dealing With Fear

Gulfport's Police Chief and Fire Chief met on Monday to review how the city is responding to reports of suspicious powders and other substances.

So far, not a single case of anthrax has been found here in Mississippi but authorities are getting dozens of calls from concerned people.

Here are some reasons for concern according to the Centers for Disease Control. If the letter or package has an unusual odor or if it looks like it has been wet or if it has a white powdery substance, do not open it. Do not shake or empty the contents.

Double bag it and throw it away. Wash your hands with soap and water. If you still have concerns then call the police.
