Foxwoods Development Pulls Out Of Broadwater Development Plan

Foxwoods Development no longer has a contract at the Broadwater. So, if you want the Broadwater's 15 acre casino site, and you have the cash, property owners tell WLOX News, you can have it.

In April, the Foxwoods group announced it had plans to build a casino resort immediately north of Highway 90. The casino would have been part of a massive revitalization of the Broadwater property.

Nobody from Foxwoods returned phone calls Wednesday to explain why the deal fell apart.

The Foxwoods Development Co. is the economic development arm of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. They already own Foxwoods Resort Casino in southeastern Connecticut.

The tribe would have entered the Mississippi gaming market as a commercial gaming company.
