Mississippi & Alabama Churches Team Up For Kids' Summer Bible Club

Some coast children are spending this week singing, dancing and learning about the Bible.

Bay Vista Baptist Church of Biloxi and First Baptist Church of Pelham, Alabama are hosting Backyard Bible Clubs at five locations in Biloxi and Long Beach. The children get to enjoy music, listen to Bible stories and make crafts that tie into their daily lessons.

"It's been a period of terrible adjustments for some of them. They've lost so much and there's been so much instability because people have been displaced, and trying to make things back like they used to be. What we want to do is, we want to come and give them a message of love, and of hope, and that's through Jesus Christ," Bible Club Camp Director Debbie Blackwelder said.

Besides the Bible clubs, the churches are also hosting sports camps and block parties for the community.
