Plane Makes Emergency Landing, Skids On Runway

A twin-engine charter plane made an emergency landing early Wednesday morning at the Gulfport-Biloxi International airport.

Airport Director Bruce Frallic said the plane left the airport at 5:15 a.m., but returned a few minutes later after experiencing an undisclosed problem. When he landed, the landing gear didn't deploy and the plane skidded in on a main runway.

The pilot and the two passengers were not hurt. It took crews a few hours to clear the runway, and a few commercial flights were delayed as a result. Frallic says flights are back on schedule now.
