Chevron Beefing Up Security

Officials at the Chevron refinery plant in Pascagoula, are increasing security again. The most noticeable increase is now at the plant's main entrance. Eleven concrete blocks force cars and trucks to snake through the parking lot before entering the plant.

Extra precautions have also been taken around the entire facility, including all water front property. The plant is also putting a renewed emphasis on proper identification. Plant officials decided to ramp up security following the FBI's warning for extra caution. The plant's director, Norm Szydlowski says, the refinery hasn't received any threats and these security measures are strictly precautionary.

Last year Chevron installed a huge dike around the entire facility to prevent flooding. Officials now say that dike is serving a dual purpose as a ten foot security wall.
