Pastor Organizing Human Chain For Katrina Anniversary

A Biloxi pastor wants to hold a special ceremony to mark the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

Father Harold Roberts with the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer is trying to organize a human chain that stretches from one end of the Mississippi Coast to the other. His plan involves people holding hands along the beachfront and sharing two-minutes of silence.

"Some people will remember their loved ones who were killed in the storm. There's noboby in south Mississippi who will not acknowledge the loss we've had in terms of loss in our community, but I think we're all incredibly greatful for the hands that have been given to us in the restoring process," Rev. Roberts said.

Father Roberts hopes to hold the event on the Sunday before August 29th. He is working out the details with county leaders.
