Murder Trial Begins

Jury selection began today for the murder for an Ocean Springs teenager. Christopher Roy is charges with killing 18 year old Dong Phoung Nguyen in the fall of 1999.

Investigators from the Jackson County sheriff's department believe, the murder was drug related and Nguyen was choked to death. Roy was arrested on capitol murder charges, one day after authorities found Nguyen's body in a shallow grave near Vancleave.

22 year old Jonathan May has also been arrested in connection with this case. The trail is expected to begin tomorrow and last for several days.

    School district risk assessments have to be done every year. It’s required by state law. But for the next school term, an independent study by the Harrison County Sheriff's Office through the perspective of students could make the county school district safer.
