No More Special Meetings; Long Beach Will Vote

The third consecutive special meeting of city aldermen set for Saturday did not take place. And Alderman Richard Burton says no more meetings are planned ahead of Tuesday's non-binding referendum.

On the streets are signs showing both support and opposition to allowing casinos in Long Beach. Two previous meetings on Thursday and Friday did not go forward because not enough aldermen showed up to make a quorum.

Alderman Richard Burton released a statement this weekend saying, "We have decided not to call a third special meeting of the Mayor and Board of since several Aldermen made it clear they would not attend."
