Local Distributor Helps Bay St. Louis Stockpile Water For Hurricane Season

A big donation from a well known business on the Coast will help prepare Bay St. Louis for the next storm.

Miller Brewing Company, F.E.B Distributing and the Bertucci family out of Gulfport donated 4,000 cases of canned water to the city Friday.

A Bermuda shorts wearing Mayor Eddie Favre helped members of the Bay St. Louis Fire Department unload the cases.

F.E.B employee Jimmy Osborn, who happens to live in the Bay, asked city leaders how his company could help them.

"We have two needs, one is an immediate need. We have so many volunteers coming to town, and unfortunately as hot as it is during the summertime, we don't have an ample water supply. And then the second thing we learned last year, we don't take anything for granted including the availability of drinking water. So what we wanted to do is provide enough water for all the volunteers coming in, as well as stockpile some in the event we have another storm this year," Mayor Favre said.

Favre said the much appreciated donation is valued at more than $20,000.
