Outback Steakhouse Invites You To "Dine Out For America"

Some Coast restaurants invited the public to "Dine Our For America" on Wednesday to help the American Red Cross and its current relief efforts.

The Gulfport Outback Steak House donated 100 percent of the day's sales to the American Red Cross for disaster relief. Outback is just one of several local restaurants participating in the program.

"Not only are we doing this as a restaurant business across the United States, but we're also asking that the customers and the employees of Outbacks across the nation also give money toward it," Bob Taylor, owner of the Gulfport Outback Steakhouse, said. "This is pretty much a challenge to other industries to come out and help with the Red Cross and do what we need to do to help out in this situation."

Taylor says the Outback Steak house expects to raise between five and six million dollars through the event.

Other restaurants that took part in the event include O'Charley's, the Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesday's, T.G.I. Friday's and Chili's.
