Jessie Improving In Hospital

Doctors say eight-year-old Jessie Arbogast, whose right arm was reattached after being bitten off by a shark, is improving but still in a Pensacola hospital. Sacred Heart Children's Hospital spokesman Mike Burke says Jessie probably will remain in the hospital a few more days before returning to his home in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

Doctors are monitoring to ensure he's getting enough nutrition through a feeding tube into his small intestine. He's listed in fair condition. Jessie has been hospitalized for the past week because of a vomiting problem. This is the second time he has returned to Sacred Heart since initially being released August 12th. He was readmitted on August 20th after having an adverse reaction to a medication and released a week later.

A bull shark attacked the boy in shallow waters on July 6th south of Pensacola.
