Triton's Long Beach Assembly plant has laid off ninety full and part time workers. Triton is the world's fourth largest manufacturer of A-T-M machines, and has become the latest to lay people off during the recent economic slowdown.
Triton's President Ernest Burdette, told WLOX, "It's really a downturn in the economy this year that has been enhanced by the terrible attack on our country. It's affecting all the business world and they are our customers and they are ordering less, so we have to make preparations at our company. We hope it's a short term thing, but you never know."
Triton's president did tell us that the company is restructuring, and that these positions are being eliminated at this time.
