Long Beach Memorial Service

The city of Long Beach paused Thursday, to honor the people who died in the terrorist attacks. City leaders, police, firefighters and citizens gathered at the World War Two/Public Safety Memorial to remember the victims, and pray for their families.

Officers say they share the pain of the people of New York and Washington. That's because Long Beach experienced a similar tragedy in 1998, when officers James Northcutt and Steve Morgan were killed in the line of duty.

The speakers also say this is a time of healing, and they encouraged everyone to continue to stand together as Americans.
