High School Juniors Prepare For Business Careers

Hundreds of high school students spent part of the day Wednesday preparing for future business careers.

The Gulf Coast school-to-career partnership program hosted a "Business Conference for Juniors." Students learned about things like career opportunities, job interviewing skills and preparing resumes.

The goal of the conference is to help the 11th graders choose a career path and give them some useful tips about finding the right job.

"It helps us to learn how to do the right kind of interviews, what to say, what not to say, what to wear and resumes and stuff like that," Harrison Central junior Allison Saucier said.

The schools-to-careers partnership includes six coast school districts, along with various representatives from area business and industry.
