A police pursuit Wednesday in Jackson County landed one man in jail, and one law enforcement vehicle in the repair shop.
Sheriff's investigators say 44-year-old Rene Barletter was attempting to buy drugs in a Pascagoula neighborhood. When a deputy tried to arrest Barletter, investigators say he lead police on a chase throughout Pascagoula and Moss Point.
Investigators say the pursuit ended when Barletter ran into the driver's side of an unmarked police vehicle. The officer was unharmed, but Barletter is now facing two charges for the incident - aggravated assault on a police officer and felony vehicular pursuit.
