Jackson County Extends Burn Ban

Jackson County Supervisors have extended the countywide burn ban for another two weeks until at least Monday, April 17.

Harrison, Hancock, Jackson and Stone counties are all under a burn ban. In other areas, officials are discouraging any kind of outdoor burning.

The concern everywhere is the dangerous mixture of dry weather conditions and all of the hurricane debris that could serve as fuel for wildfires.
