Original Mississippi Sea Wolves Player Returns

The Mississippi Sea Wolves have signed veteran defenseman Patrick Rochon. The 26-year-old is the only original player remaining from the 1996-97 season. Rochon is the Sea Wolves all-time assists leader with 134 and holds the team record for games player with 332.

Rochon said, "I want to make Coach Bob Woods job easier. I've paid the price in the gym this summer and I'm in excellent shape. I'm excited and looking forward to a great season. Plus, I speak French Canadian and the Sea Wolves are expected to bring in a number of players from Montreal. Since I speak both England and French Canadian, I will be able to communicate to the younger players."

Bob Woods said, "With the young guys we're going to have this year, they will need to look to someone for guidance. Patrick plays strong defensively, gets under the skin of the opponents. He'll show the new players how to make it miserable for the opposition in front of the net."

Last season Rochon played in all 72 games netting 4 goals, 21 assists and 123 penalty minutes. The Sea Wolves open the 2001-2001 ECHL season October 12th and 13th.
